BioI'm a professor of English literature at a midwestern regional university -- my specialty is Early Modern (formerly known as English Renaissance) literature, particularly drama. Yes, that means Shakespeare, but my real focus is on Ben Jonson and other playwrights of the early 17th century. Also theatre history, music history, and, well, history. Also costuming, cooking, pets, mythology, film, and my brilliant 5-year-old son. My teetering stack of bedside books is currently mostly historical fiction and some historical-ish fantasy, but I also frequently read contemporary fiction (mostly by English women), some SF, and books written by friends.
